The EUR HEALTHY of the Université Côte d'Azur and the Pôle National Supérieur de Danse Rosella Hightower are offering a University Diploma entitled "Dance, Health and Ageing".

It is part of the current context of the development of physical activity for health purposes, particularly within the framework of the "ageing well" and "sport santé bien être" schemes, aimed primarily at senior citizens, frail people and people with long-term illnesses, and particularly at people who are already experienced in or attracted to the practice of dance. The training content of the DU DSV aims to optimise the potential of adapted physical activity of dance activities, and to encourage the use of these physical activities for preventive-health and non-medicinal therapeutic purposes


The DU DSV is designed for the initial and ongoing training of dance teachers and physical activity professionals wishing to train in the design and implementation of dance activities for ageing well and health. It is also intended for health and care professionals, specialists in physical and mental health, and teachers of somatic techniques.


The DU DSV consists of 150 hours of classroom teaching spread over the whole academic year. They are provided by each of the partners on their respective sites in Nice and Cannes-Mougins. The shared teaching with the SVAPA professional licence is organised over two semesters. The courses are grouped over three consecutive days, from Wednesday to Friday between September and April.


September 2022: registrations open from 13 June 2022
Registrations are open on the Université Côte d'Azur's E-Candidat platform from 17 June to 19 July 2022.

The hours given by the Rosella Hightower PNSD constitute specific teaching devoted to the design and conduct of "healthy dance".

The hours given by the STAPS, Sport Sciences Campus are shared with the SVAPA Licence teaching and concern the scientific foundations and their practical application of ageing to develop Health Sport through dance for seniors.The DU teaching shared with the SVAPA professional licence is organised over two semesters. The courses focus on scientific knowledge on ageing and physical activity, mainly in the first semester. The 2nd semester has a more practical side.


Opening of dance classes adapted to seniors in all types of structures (association, sports club, dance school...), interventions in retirement homes...
